According to the legend, Hayk and his family once lived in the ancient city of Babylon.
During the construction of the Tower of Babel, a giant Titan named Bel declared himself king of the world and forced people to worship him. Hayk did not want to obey, so he moved his family and friends to the land of Ararat, where they founded a city named Haykashen. Their home became known as the land of Hayk, and people were called HAY.
The Babylonian king Bel ordered Hayk to return, and when Hayk refused, Bel attacked Haykashen with his vast army. Hayk assembled 300 people and defeated Bel with an arrow ending the battle.
